Santa Events in Cities and Towns in Chicagoland and Northern Illinois
Just about every city, town and village in Chicagoland and Northern Illinois has a tree lighting ceremony, often in conjunction with a parade and other festivities. Some area towns and villages have not been included because we have not been able to determine if Santa Claus will be participating in their tree lighting ceremony or other activities. While village and town tree lighting events are always free, some towns charge for other activities such as carriage rides, etc. While we believe the following information is correct , always confirm events in advance—times and dates can and do change and we are not responsible for errors or omissions.

Lombard doesn’t play second fiddle to anyone when it comes to having great Holiday events. Their “Jingle Bell Jubilee” is a terrific day of fun filled activities for the entire family. If you’re anywhere near St. Charles on Thanksgiving weekend come and see what they have planned. First up is the “Holiday Homecoming” which begins on Friday evening in Lincoln Park. This will be set in motion with Santa’s grand entrance followed by the “Lighting of the Lights Ceremony”. On both Friday and Saturday, there will be a number free events all day in downtown St. Charles including strolling carolers, children’s activities, horse drawn sleigh rides, band performances and more. Saturday’s “Electric Light Parade” is a night-time Christmas spectacular to remember. All of the eighty or so floats that will be participating, must have either real lights or decorations that will glow in the dark. Of course you’ll find old Santa in the middle of the action.
