Santa Events in Cities and Towns in Chicagoland and Northern Illinois

Santa in Chicago

Just about every city, town and village in Chicagoland and Northern Illinois has a tree lighting ceremony, often in conjunction with a parade and other festivities. Some area towns and villages have not been included because we have not been able to determine if Santa Claus will be participating in their tree lighting ceremony or other activities. While village and town tree lighting events are always free, some towns charge for other activities such as carriage rides, etc. While we believe the following information is correct , always confirm events in advance—times and dates can and do change and we are not responsible for errors or omissions.

Zion does Santa and the holiday season in grand style. The opening night festivities are just the start of Santa and other events that go up through December 23rd. Zion’s “Festival of Lights” runs through December 30th. Things get going on the 4th of December with the “Santa Walk” where he starts off at the Shiloh Center and goes over to his house at “Kringle’s Kingdom” where children can visit him—see Santa Houses listing and Top 10 Santa Events, ‘Santa at Kringles Kingdon’ listing for complete details of this impressive event.
