Santa home visits are nothing new, the Jolly Old Elf has been visiting people in their homes for as long as long as he has been around. What is new is that village and town recreation departments and park districts have started to pick up on this trend.
The Chicago area organizations listed below are now booking Santa visits to homes in their cities and towns. The average home stay is ten or fifteen minutes, about enough time for Santa Claus to quickly listen to what the children would like for Christmas, have a few pictures taken, and then be on his merry way.
The visits run about $25 to $35 per household with some more, and others less. You almost never get an exact arrival time, so you should plan on being home for a few hours that day or evening. Most visits take place between five and eight o’clock. Usually Santa will give you a call before he knock’s on your door.
Knowing that they are actually going to meet with Santa in their home, is a great way to keep the kids on their best behavior on the days leading up to Christmas and is something most children will never be able to forget.

Santa will be coming by homes in Berwyn on St. Nick's Day sometime between six and eight o’clock in the evening. He will have something special for the kids, a St. Nick’s Stocking for each child. He’ll also be leaving a magic scroll from the North Pole.

Each visit will last about twenty to thirty minutes and the little ones will receive a small gift to whet their appetite for what’s coming on the big day. Santa also has a magic scroll for each family which he brought from the North Pole.

In Carol Stream Santa Claus will come right to your house in a custom RV where he will meet with your children. He will only stop for five minutes, and his visit is limited to your family members. Santa can come to your home where he will drop off a gift for the kids. The way the program works is you purchase the gift, the Park District wraps it and Santa Claus delivers it. Your gift or gifts must be dropped off at the Park District Recreation Center by December 15th, before 3 pm. Santa’s visit will be a quick one, so have your camera ready when he arrives. You will be called on December 17th and notified of the approximate time Santa will arrive.
